Run in the Mud

Dirt never hurt a worthy cause.

Brown’s Orchards will host a Spring Blossom 5K Mud Run Saturday, April 9, starting at 8:30 a.m.

The all-ages event will be held at the Yellow Church Road farm, 8773 Yellow Church Road, Seven Valleys.

The course, with terrain that may be frozen or muddy and slippery, runs through orchards, fields and woods. All runners receive a bottle of apple cider. A $25 registration fee benefits Leg Up Farm. Register here.

The Brown’s Orchards run is one of a three-part series to benefit Leg Up Farm. Participants may register to run in all three races for $60.

A Perrydell Farm and Dairy 8K will be held Saturday, March 19, at 8:30 a.m., at the Perrydell Farm Store, 90 Indian Rock Dam Road, York. All runners receive a bottle of chocolate milk. Part of the proceeds from this race support the Shon Seely Legacy Fund.

A third race, the Leg Up Farm 5K and Kids Fun Run, will be held Saturday, April 23, starting at 9 a.m. at Leg Up Farm, 4880 N. Sherman St. Ext., Mount Wolf. Any 5K runner who registers by April 8 will receive a T-shirt.

The Kids Fun Run will take place after the 5K and include characters from The Enchanted Teapot, including Iron Man, Kylo Ren, Snow White, Merida and Ariel.
